Skeletal Justice comes to Book of Demons Hack & Slash for April Fools' Day

Warsaw, Poland - April 1st, 2017 / Book of Demons, Thing Trunk’s award-winning, deck-building papercraft hack & slash is now scheduled to get completely reversed, announced the developers on April 1’st.

The team behind the game recently agreed that portraying the Town dwellers as the heroes paints an unjust and skewed image of the whole good vs. evil narrative. Besides, everyone loves the underdog, even the science agrees!

That's why, starting with the next update, the game will feature only one playable class: the Skeletal Justice Warrior. Players will have to fight off the onslaught of the so-called heroes as they disrupt the peaceful living of the undead in the dungeons. All glory to the Archdemon! Fight for your dungeon!

Changes in the gameplay include:

·         New and the only class, the Skeletal Justice Warrior.

·         Three new and only enemy classes: Warrior, Mage, and Rogue will retain experience and cards accumulated by players. The better players were, the harder the game will be now.

·         Whole new deck of cards to help in the quest of protecting the oppressed. They will include such skills as:

o   Awkward Boner” – summons a huge but clumsy skeletal minion

o   Genesis” – conjures a female skeleton companion at a cost of a rib (usable up to twelve times)

o    “Cardboard Barrel” - hide your skeleton in a paper barrel so he can surprise enemies!

The changes in the game should not come as a total surprise to the most die-hard Book of Demons fans, as many hints were in place from the very start. For example, in the current version of the game, the players can listen to the Archdemon’s following monolog while slaying him: “Let’s consider who is really evil here. Did I break into your home to destroy you? I have a circle in hell reserved just for you!”

Book of Demons now has 93% positive reviews on Steam, but who knows how low it will drop once all players’ characters get downgraded to skeletons. Now is the last chance to download a free demo of classical Book of Demons, before the game gets totally reversed:

Thankfully, Thing Trunk developers admit that their plans might again reverse in the future ;-)

About Book of Demons

Book of Demons is an action RPG for the PC (currently in early access) and announced for Xbox One. A hack & slash distilled to its purest form. Devilishly charming and fun as hell. Slay the armies of darkness in the dungeons below the Old Cathedral and save the terror-stricken Paperverse from the clutches of the Archdemon himself. The game is the first installment of Return 2 Games - a series of original mid-core titles, inspired by the early golden days of PC gaming.

Book of Demons launched on Steam Early Access in July 2016 to very positive Steam reviews and has already earned several awards including Best Game Art at Casual Connect 2016 in Tel Aviv.

About Return 2 Games Series

Return 2 Games is a series of original mid-core titles inspired by the golden days of PC gaming. Thing Trunk’s plan is to build seven games in total, each unique in terms of genre and theme, but all sharing the same vision: to make deeply engaging experiences accessible.

Return 2 Games draws inspiration from the early days of PC gaming when developers weren’t afraid to innovate, defined new genres, and created the most memorable experiences. Return 2 Games titles are designed to deeply engage in a matter of minutes. They explore powerful universal stories, like good versus evil, that are immediately familiar. Return 2 Games caters even to people who don't play as much as they used to, who find casual games shallow and unengaging, and who can’t invest enough time into hardcore games to really enjoy them.

About Thing Trunk

Thing Trunk is a small game development studio based in Warsaw, Poland. The core team is comprised of six dedicated developers. The 3 founders―Filip Starzyński, Konstanty Kalicki, and Maciej Biedrzycki―are casual game industry veterans who (despite a level of success) became disappointed with the miring trends in the market and scrapped their former brands (Codeminon and Twinbottles) to focus solely on the ambitious Return 2 Games idea. Since then they are trying to prove that making AAA quality content is possible in a small but experienced team with lots of passion.
